TravelMate TMP215-41-G2-R4UF shutdown randomly/unexpectedly

i bought a travelmate p215-41-g2 back in April 2025, the specs are Ryzen 5 5650u with 16 gb ram, it came with 8 gb but i upgraded it to 16 gb, I'm running on windows 10

running on the latest bios also (3.11), all drivers updated

just 3 weeks later my first shutdown came. it happened when i was just downloading a game, and then in the evening using chrome it happened again
i dont think its overheating as the temperature is around 45 when browsering or doing light work,
event viewer only showed error 41 and 6008,

happens both plugged in and unplugged

I don't think it can be a ram issue as the ram sticks are same, both sticks are Samsung ddr4 3200 MHz M471A1K43EB1-CWE
i also read in another forum that these ram sticks should be used. and yet the shutdowns still happen.

it also shuts down in the middle of the night too, in hibernate/sleep mode.

any solutions? it would really help since I'm a broke high schooler who literally spent all his money on a laptop

Hi, this is a Windows11 laptop, why are you not upgrading to Windows11 23H2?

i think this laptop was made before windows 11 got released, and i saw on other forums people with windows 11 had same issues. i also prefer windows 10 more than 11.

Yes, it came from the factory with W10 and should be upgraded to W11 so you can continue support from Microsoft. But we need to fix the instability first, you never want to attempt a system upgrade without it being stable in the first place. When it does the shutdown, does it shutdown like you have asked it to, or does it act more like you have pressed the power button or disconnected the battery? Do you get a blue screen? Are there any events in the event log that appear just before the issue? There will be a bunch of entries as it's starting back up, so you can work backwards from there.

the shutdown is just like boom. unexpected and nothing. just randomly off and screen is black and the power led is off too, doesnt show anything. event viewer shows no issue before the shutdown and after turning it on again it just says the shutdown was unexpected and i cant find anything

i dont think its overheating, it had also shutdowns during light browsering. i checked my temps and they never went above 55 during browsering. i have cleaned the vents and the fan also,

battery health is perfectly fine also. only there is only 11% wear on battery, testing without battery might not be possible as i need the laptop on the go most of the time, and it could take days to see if a shutdown would happen, but i will try if i have the time,

does not seem to be the power adapter issue also, as it has happened during unplugged also,

all drivers are updated. including bios too, and i cant find errors in event viewer that may have caused the shutdown. there is no malware at all.

its seems to be a ram issue specific issue. many people who had this issue had all upgraded their ram, i found a page about the correct type of ram to use. im currently using the correct type ram and yet still getting the issue

It wouldn't be the power adapter, much more likely to be a loose connection at the battery. If the battery disconnects, it would turn off just as you see. That would also happen on an overheat of the CPU, but you would see indications of it running very hot before the issue hits. If it were the power adapter the battery would have to have completely failed for it to shut off when the adapter goes away…

First of all, just let us know what games you play, on your laptop because overloading your laptop with games is an issue that may lead to issues in multi-processing, I have been using same laptop and have had no issues with this laptop, its superb, it's literally the best thing with this specs, There is possibly no issue with this laptops' heating or shutdowns. Use it fairly knowing that it is a laptop, not a high end PC and if yours has some literal issues then it's better to dump or resolve it than to sell it ( scam someone ) on some reselling platform. There are no RAM cards issues nor any compatibility ones, I have been using the same cards 16gigs but they never flawed

better check the plugins or reset your dear computer or resolve it rather than scamming somebody selling it over.

not cuz of gaming, happened also during using chrome,
not overheating either, cuz using chrome temps stay around 50,
i swapped the ram and that seemed to fix the issue but i was too scared to get the issue again so i sold it

also dont be traumatized by overheating, its just that acer didnt do anything to protect the cpu from going above 90, while others like limit the power to keep it under 80, which may cause damage in "long term" so i sold it since i didnt wanna kill it,
