If I sound impatient, frustrated, or overall angry, it's because I am.

I've had my Acer Predator Triton 500 for about four years now. It's a beautiful machine, runs like a dream.

Or it did, until two (three now) days ago.

First, it was a minor hiccup: My 'w' key was only working intermittently. I can work with that, since the games I'm currently playing don't heavily involve the W keys. I was planning on some 2077 soon, though, so it'll eventually be a big problem.

Then, my '2' key stopped completely. It's not cutting in and out like my W key, it stopped 100 percent. This is bad, a it's... An important key, shall we say.

Found out earlier my PredatorSense key has also stopped working.

Any attempt to contact acer support or consult the manual has been a bust as any attempt to enter my SN or SNID is returned as "unrecognized" (even with acer's autodetect tool). (If the underside is to be believed, it's from China- Taiwan- but it's all in English, so unsure of what to do on that front.) I use this laptop for everything, so help would be more than appreciated.

From what I read, issues like these are common, but I can't find any one solution that pertains to my laptop short of taking it to a computer shop.

I've popped the 2 and W keys- no change (and no additional potential damage, for the record). I've cleaned the keys to no avail. The keyboard has been re-installed (I've heard uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard works but uninstalling it with no ability to use it or reinstall prompted this; as said before though, this part has been resolved.)

In short, I need help.

You don't need the SNID or S/N to get your laptops drivers and/or manual. Turn the laptop over and have a look at the underneath of the laptop for sticker that has a number above the SNID and the S/N numbers, as that is what your Predator Triton 500 is recognized and known as, the numbers should be something like PT515-xx, so get that number and go to the Acer Drivers and Manuals page and put that number in as then you will have all the drivers, bios and appendix that includes the manual for your laptop. Its a very simple thing to do and to download.

With the keyboard, try to clean the keys with an electronic spray cleaner and see if the keys free up and work, if not you probably need a new keyboard. Good luck.
