Hi, this is a legacy 2013 laptop, if you bought a new power adapter that plugs in the round DC port and has nothing to to do with USB ports. This model is no longer supported by Acer or Microsoft so there are no drivers or BIOS available anymore, Take it to a reputable PC repair shop to check the USB port.

Just some additional information, as this is the board part that you need and how to install this IO board of your Aspire V5-573P laptop as per service guide, make sure that you have the correct part and you connect this board properly, also check its cable if its not faulty. Good luck.

If the side USB port on your Acer Aspire V5-573P isn't working, try these troubleshooting steps: Clean the port, update or uninstall/reinstall drivers, check BIOS settings, and run device-specific troubleshooting. If those steps don't work, it could be a hardware issue, and you may need to take it to a service center.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of the troubleshooting steps:

    1. Clean the port:
Power down: Fully power down the laptop and disconnect the battery if it's removable.
Use tweezers: Carefully use thin tweezers to remove any dust or debris from the USB port.
    2. Update or uninstall/reinstall drivers:
Open Device Manager: In Windows, open Device Manager.
Expand USB Controllers: Find "Universal Serial Bus controllers" and expand it.
Uninstall drivers: Right-click on each USB controller and select "Uninstall device".
Restart: Restart your computer, and Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.
    3. Check BIOS settings:
Enter BIOS: Restart your computer and repeatedly press the F2 key as it starts up to access the BIOS.
Locate USB settings: Find "USB Configuration" or "USB Ports" under "Integrated Devices".
Enable USB ports: Ensure "Enable USB Ports" or "Enable External USB Ports" is checked.
Save and exit: Save changes and exit the BIOS.
    4. Run device-specific troubleshooting:
Hardware and Device troubleshooter: Use the built-in troubleshooter to automatically fix hardware issues.
SFC scan: Run a System File Checker scan to repair corrupted system files.
Refresh USB drivers: In Device Manager, right-click on USB controllers and select "Update driver software" to search for updates.
    5. Consider other potential issues:
Damaged cable or device: Test with a different USB cable and device to see if the issue persists.
Faulty port: If all other steps fail, it could be a hardware issue with the USB port itself.

thank you I will try the cleaning as the one on the board itself is not working the usb that uses the IO board has been change and found the socket that snaps on the ribbon cable was dirty so now only have to try and get the one that is part of the motherboard itself

    Thank you again
