My new Acer DM431K 43" Display and doesn't apear compatible with my Dell PC

I bought a new Acer DM431K 43" Display for my older Dell XPS PC and the display appears larger than the physical display and I cannot see the left, right top or bottom of the PC page. I tried changing to different aspect ratio settings wide or 1:1 on the display and that doesn't help. I tried going back to my older display and tried different aspect ratio settings on the PC and that doesn't help. My PC only goes to 1920x1080. I tried resetting to factory defaults on the display - no help. My old display works ok but nothing I do on the Acer display menu helps. I tried a different HDMI cable - no help. Any ideas for why it seems synced to the left of what I can see and is so large I cannot even get into settings without shifting the HDMI back and forth to my old display, where I can see everything. Any ideas?

Below are the specs of your Acer DM431K 43" monitor, this 43" monitor has all the ports to attach to an older PC like a VGA port, the below highlighted recommended resolutions is what you should use with a VGA port at 2048 dots x 1152 lines 60Hz as it should work and give you a suitable image on this monitor, otherwise its a setting within your Dell XPS PC that needs to be adjusted, so consult this PCs manual and adjust the screen resolution accordingly, as we can't advise you on a Dell PC on an Acer forum. Btw try to connect the PC with either the HDMI or the DP ports. Good luck

In my post I said I was using HDMI to connect my Acer Display to my Dell XPS not VGA. I tried all the Dell PC display resolution settings as 1920x1080 was working on my old display. I also tried the 2 Acer wide mode settings and tried other possible settings. I then reset my Acer to factory defaults with no help. I then gave up and tried the forum. I put the Acer monitor on another newer HP PC and it worked at 1920x1080 but the Acer menu keeps popping up for no reason on that PC. This is the first monitor in my life that didn't just work properly on HDMI and why would the Acer menu just pop up for no reason. Its very odd.
