Hi, if you upgraded to Windows11 24H2 consider reinstalling version 23H2 and wait till Acer releases a new BIOS version then upgrade to 24H2.

The webcam is integrated in the laptop and controlled by Windows, no webcam drivers are available. What you can do is uninstall the User facing webcam device in Device Manager-Cameras and just reboot, Windows will reinstall the device. If still no camera you may need to replace the webcam (cheap) or better get an external USB camera that will have much better resolution with adjustable position, they are available from $40 upwards.

If the camera on your Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 is not working, you'll need to troubleshoot a few common issues. First, ensure that camera access is enabled in Windows settings and that the correct camera drivers are installed. Also, check the camera is recognized in Device Manager and that there are no hardware conflicts.
    Here's a more detailed breakdown:

    1. Check Windows Privacy Settings:
Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
Make sure "Let apps access your camera" is turned on and that the specific apps you're using have permission to access the camera.
    2. Verify Camera is Recognized in Device Manager:
      Open Device Manager.
Look for "Imaging devices" and ensure the camera is listed there.
If it's not listed, try right-clicking on "Imaging devices" and selecting "Scan for hardware changes".
    3. Update Camera Drivers:
If the camera is listed in Device Manager but not working, try updating the camera drivers.
You can usually find the latest drivers on the Acer website for your specific model (AN515-57).
Alternatively, try updating the drivers through Device Manager by right-clicking on the camera device and selecting "Update driver".
    4. Check for Hardware Conflicts:
If the camera is recognized in Device Manager and drivers are up to date, there may be a hardware conflict.
Try disabling other devices in Device Manager one by one to see if the camera starts working.
    5. Restart or Update Windows:
A corrupted Windows installation or outdated system can sometimes cause camera issues.
Try restarting your computer or updating Windows to the latest version.
If the camera still isn't working after these steps, it may be a hardware issue, and you may need to contact Acer support for assistance.
