How can I prevent this bloat/malware from being reinstalled every time Windows Update runs?

Whenever I run Windows Update it reinstalls Acer Software I have previously removed.

I do not want or need the bloatware Acer forces upon its customers.

How can I prevent this bloat/malware from being reinstalled every time Windows Update runs?

Thanks,

What is your Acer product number, as that will also help? As Windows Update does not install any bloatware that Acer includes as their oem apps with the initial windows operating system once you have uninstalled these apps.

The only drivers that windows update might install is drivers for essential functionality of your laptop like the Intel appropriate graphics drivers that you might have changed from Intel or other essential drivers for the windows operating system that Microsoft deems as their oem drivers. Be more specific and tell us which “Acer Software I have previously removed” as that will also help. Good luck and hope this sorts all this out for you.

Read Step 1 carefully from the guide below. First, uninstall those apps. Then, run Windows Update and pause it immediately when updates appear. After that, use the Microsoft Show or Hide Updates tool.

    The Product ID is 00325-87401-17743-AAOEM

Windows Update is trying to reinstall:

    Acer Incorporated - SoftwareComponent - 1.4.32.1030

    Acer Incorporated - SoftwareComponent - 1.4.9.1010

and there were 2 others but I didn't get a chance to copy them

And let's not get into a sematic argument over Bloatware or not Bloatware. It is unwanted-ware. Acer installs a LOT of unnecessary software that I do not want or need and I did not ask for. To force reinstall that software after removal is not cool.

Thank you for the speedy reply!

Reinstall the the appropriate either Win-10 or 11 OSs from Microsoft that doesn't have all that bloatware that Acer includes, if the MS windows copies still have bloatware that you don't want, then uninstall them yourself, you can't have a special OS the way that you want. As I'm not going to get into any "sematic argument over Bloatware" with that is for sure!  good luck.

I think you know very well that I meant "semaNtic".

    se·man·tic/səˈman(t)ik/

    adjective

    1. relating to meaning in language or logic.

And why are you getting so "ughh" with me? I asked a simple question, you asked for more info, I provided it.

All computer companies install Bloatware these days. It wasn't a personal attack on Acer. I love this new computer I just got from them! In trying to set it up the way I want, I came across this issue. I can't figure out why you seem to be taking it personally that I'm not happy with this particular aspect of the Acer experience?

    Type regedit then hit Enter.

Go to the follow Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\

Create a new key inside the Windows key. Right-click the Windows key and choose New > Hit Key. Name the new key CloudContent.

Create a new value inside that new key. Right-click the CloudContent key and select New > Select DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name the new value DisableWindowsConsumerFeatures.

Double-click the new DisableWindowsConsumerFeatures value to open its properties window. Change the value from 0 to 1 in the Value data box and then click OK.

    Restart your computer.

But nothing stops Windows from reinstalling a bunch of bloatware I don't want, including Skype, Zune, and a load of other softwares.
