BIOS Password and Unlock Code prompt to enter BIOS on Acer Predator Helios 16 PH16-71

This is going to sound odd, but I went to boot in to BIOS Setup last night and was greeted with a prompt to enter an Unlock Code/BIOS Password. I have never set this in the past and have never been prompted for it before. Is this a known issue? I ask because I see there a sprinkling of threads across this community and other online communities with Acer Predator users experiencing the same thing.

Some other oddness, if enter nothing, it hangs for about 10 seconds before getting a menu to Enter Unlock Code or System Startup. If I click the Lock Code option, it says I need to insert a FAT/FAT32 USB dongle. If I do that, I get an Unlock Code prompt. According to some research, its supposed to create a code.txt file, but that doesn't seem to actually happen in my case.

All this seems like some sort of strange bug or issue with the BIOS and not users accidentially setting a BIOS password. Anyone have any guidance on this?

Luckily I can still boot to external media using F12 for any OS installs/Win PE stuff, but I am unable to get in to anything else and concerned if I ever need to change other BIOS Settings.
