Hi Everyone,

I have just bought an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52. I am having trouble finding a solution to have more than 1x monitor/screens display.

I have tried several USB-C dongles, USB-C to USB adaptor, all different types of cables multiple ways etc etc!

How can I get my 2x monitors/screens working with this laptop?!

Thank you

Stacey

The USB-C port on the AN515-52 does NOT support video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode). That’s why all the USB-C to HDMI or DisplayPort dongles and adapters you’ve tried won’t work.

Alternate working Options to Connect Multiple Monitors
You can use the HDMI Port. This model has only one HDMI port, which allows you to connect one external monitor directly.
Another option, use a USB Display Adapter (Not USB-C)
Since the USB-C video output is unavailable, your best option for a second external monitor is a USB-to-HDMI Display Adapter that uses DisplayLink technology.

These work through the standard USB 3.0 (Type-A) port.
They use software to drive the display — not native GPU output — but work well for general multitasking, office work, and media. Examples (search for):
Plugable USB 3.0 to HDMI Video Graphics Adapter (uses DisplayLink)
Wavlink USB 3.0 to Dual HDMI Adapter (DisplayLink-based)
Make sure the adapter explicitly states it uses DisplayLink, and install the latest DisplayLink drivers from displaylink.com/downloads.

Combine Both Options. Monitor 1: Connect via the laptop’s built-in HDMI port. Monitor 2: Connect via a USB 3.0 DisplayLink adapter to an HDMI or DisplayPort input.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Hi Stacey, as suggested by colleague Sharanji get a USB3.0 active graphics adapter with 2 HDMI ports that support 2 x 4K monitors at 60Hz in Extended mode, several Acer users have bought this DisplayLink based adapter: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-DisplayLink-Graphics-Outputs-Compatible/dp/B094G5JLNC?th=1, note that you have to download the driver from the DisplayLink site.
