Dear Acer Community Support,
I am experiencing a significant issue with my Acer Aspire A715-76G laptop. Despite having an NVIDIA RTX 2050 dedicated GPU, my system consistently uses the integrated Intel graphics, and I cannot access the settings to switch or control the GPU in the BIOS.
Here is what I have tried so far:
- I attempted to set the NVIDIA GPU as the preferred graphics processor in the NVIDIA Control Panel (globally and for specific applications).
- I configured Windows Graphics Settings to prioritize the dedicated GPU.
- I disabled the integrated Intel graphics in Device Manager.
- I performed a clean installation of both Intel and NVIDIA drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU).
- I checked BIOS settings, but the BIOS lacks any option to switch between integrated and dedicated graphics.
- I attempted to downgrade my BIOS version to potentially access more options, but the downgrade is blocked.
- I tried using H2OUVE (H2O UEFI Variable Editor) to unlock advanced BIOS options, but due to the BIOS protection, I am unable to run it successfully.
NVIDIA support has advised me to contact Acer for further assistance. I have also reached out to Acer Support directly, but I have not yet received a clear solution.
I would like to know if there is a way to unlock the advanced BIOS options (including GPU control) on my system or if a specific BIOS version can be provided that allows access to these settings.
Any guidance or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
Best regards, David
