I am an Acer laptop user
System Model Predator PHN16-72
Configured
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-14900HX
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 64.0 GB
Graphics 4060

The system constantly hangs

Constant freezing, blue screen, and CPU overheating
No matter what I do, it doesn't work. Even the warranty didn't help me.
They said the system passed all tests, but as soon as it started working again, the flaws were revealed. I updated the BIOS and downloaded all the drivers from the Acer website.
I was really annoyed

The only things that I suggest that could be a problem is the ram upgrade, what type of ram did you upgrade your PHN16-72 laptop with? As this laptop works best with DDR5-5600MT/s CL46 type NORMAL ram, as and if you upgraded your laptop with XMP overclocked type ram, that could be the cause of the problems that you are having. Also, set the bios to run the Nvidia GPU only gpu and also do the same in Predator Sense for best graphics performance, do not run the Intel graphics, as that could also cause the problems that you are having.

The i9-14900HX cpu even with the PHN16-72 latest bios that supposedly fixed the 13th and 14th Gen Intel cpu's problems these cpu's will still overheat, so be aware of this, but these cpu's are designed to work at high temps, so and if your i9-14900HX cpu works in high end gaming and applications at 100°C temps, then that is normal.

I suggest that you make sure that Win-11 24H2 has all the updates and is updated to OS build: 26100.4061 for best results and also buy a good multi fan laptop cooler like the Thermaltake Massive 12 Max Notebook Cooler, as these sorts of coolers also assists in reducing temps by up to 20°C. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

This what Acer tested the PHN16-72 laptop cpu temps, so makes sure that your laptop performs the same as the values below.

Hi, check that BIOS is version 1.16 from 2025/02/06 and that RAM is CL=46 and speed=5600 MTs for the 2 DDR5 RAM modules, Acer recommends up to 32GB RAM but Crucial and Kingston both tested up to 64GB DDR5. I would avoid RAM modules with XMP profile, use standard JEDEC like this Kingston link: Memory for a Acer - Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-72-xxx) - Kingston Technology
