If you have the original hard disk intact, you can restore the operating system on your Acer Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer by pressing the Alt and F10 keys when the computer starts to boot up. How do I reset my computer in Windows 10

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Question: is that just after entering the BIOS password, or before?

To get the internal blue screen of "Choose an option" within Win-10, press either the Power key for 5 seconds or the Alt and  F10 keys as soon as the Acer logo appears, but you might need to do this a few times before the "Choose an option" blue screen appears, then choose Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Keep my files. if that doesn't work then go to Advanced > Startup Repair" as that should fix and make your Win-10 boot.

If all the above steps does not fix the Win-10 OS boot and you have valuable files on the boot drive, take your boot drive out and get a professional recovery technician to recover your valuable data for you, do not try to recover it yourself as 9 out of 10 times users corrupt these files with all sorts of software's that don't work to an unrecoverable state and you will lose your valuable data.

If you don't have valuable files on the boot drive, then do a clean install of Win-10 with a bootable Rufus 4.6 USB drive and follow their guide of how to do a Win-10 installation USB. Good luck and hope this gives yo additional guidance to fix the problems that you have with your Win-10 OS.

Problem. I got the 0xc000000f screen event. THAT'S why I need a bookable usb. Acer should have a download able, but I can't find one on the site.

The 0xc000000f error code indicates a problem with the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) or the file system, often occurring when Windows cannot load essential boot files. This error usually appears as a blue screen message stating "Your PC needs to be repaired" and is often accompanied by the error code.
Here's how to troubleshoot and potentially fix the 0xc000000f error:

    1. Understand the Cause:
      Missing or Corrupt BCD:
The BCD is a database that tells Windows how to boot. If it's missing or damaged, Windows can't find the necessary information to start.
      File System Integrity Issues:
The file system itself can also be corrupted, especially if your computer experienced a power outage or other unexpected shutdown during a critical write operation.
    2. Troubleshooting Steps:
      Try Startup Repair:
Boot from a Windows installation or recovery disc (USB).
Choose "Repair your computer" on the first screen.
Select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Repair".
Run Command Prompt from Recovery Media:
Boot from the installation media and navigate to the command prompt.
      Use the following commands:
bootrec /fixmbr (Fixes the Master Boot Record)
bootrec /fixboot (Fixes the boot sector)
bootrec /scanos (Scans the hard drive for Windows installations)
      bootrec /rebuildbcd (Rebuilds the BCD)
      Check and Repair Hard Drive:
From the Command Prompt, use chkdsk /f /r X: to check and repair the hard drive's file system (replace X with the drive letter where Windows is installed).
      Disable Secure Boot (if applicable):
In the BIOS/UEFI settings, disable Secure Boot.
Change the Boot Mode to "CSM" (Compatibility Support Module).
Change the SATA Controller mode to "Compatibility" mode.
      Consider a System Restore:
If you have a recent system restore point, try using that.
If None of the Above Work: You may need to perform a fresh installation of Windows.
Back up any important data before doing a fresh install.
