Battery charging to 100% in less than 10 minutes and draining fast – Acer Aspire A715-51G on Windows

Hello,

I recently purchased a new Acer Aspire A715-51G laptop running Windows 11.
The battery is new and the charger is original.

The problem is that sometimes the battery charges from low percentage (e.g. 20%) to 100% in less than 10 to 15 minutes, which is abnormally fast. Then it discharges quickly as well — sometimes going from 100% to under 30% in less than an hour.

At other times, the charging and battery life behave normally.

I ran a battery report using powercfg /batteryreport, and the full charge capacity shows 51,582 mWh, while the design capacity is 53,015 mWh, which seems healthy.

Could this be a calibration issue, firmware/BIOS issue, or something else in the system?

Any help or advice would be appreciated!

Hi, The Acer Aspire A715-51G was launched in January 2022, when the battery was not replaced it may be bad after 3 years Reset the battery with the pinhole at the back and update BIOS with version 1.55 dated 2024/10/25.
