Nitro XV272U no signal. I don't see any other menu items. Any other ideas?

Hello all. We purchased a new HP computer (Win11) that came with 2 display port ports on the motherboard and no other options (HDMI, DVI, etc). We purchased an Acer Nitro XV272U to go with it and so far whenever we power up the PC, we see it switch to both HDMI inputs and then finally to DP and then it just says "no signal". We manually set the input on the monitor to use DP and when we powered up the PC, it would show the HP Wolf Security logo with the spinning wheel and then eventually say no signal. I tried going into BIOS and it wouldn't even let it load. I suspected that it MAY be a power issue since these were both hooked to an older power strip so I tried hooking into other power outlets and other things like holding the power button for 2-3 seconds just to see. Eventually it loaded the "recovery" page and when I tried to boot into windows, the screen cut off. Went back and after fiddling with it again, I was able to get into BIOS and do some diagnostics tests, to which all of them passed except USB but I only had USB keyboard and mouse plugged in at the time and didnt feel like unplugging them. Any suggestions? I have made sure the cables are plugged in and I dont see any other menu items other than auto source and input as far as monitor menu items go. I tried hooking the monitor to a different computer and it turned on. I tried unplugging all and holding the power button for 30 secs and no fix. Any other ideas?

This is not the Acer XV272U monitors fault but your HP whatever model computer it is, what model is it, as that would help.

if this desktop only has a HDMI and a DVI port you can only use the HDMI port on the Acer XV272U monitor, as its only got a HDMI and DP input ports. So use the HDMI cable listed below that Acer recommends for a HDMI connection as connection your HP desktop with the HDMI port should work. The power source adapter should be a 100-240V @50/60Hz type adapter. Good luck and hope this helps you out to solve this problem.

I am not sure where those stats came from, but they do not match the stats on the XV272U monitor from the Acer site. The monitor we have came with 1 DP 1.4 port and 2x HDMI 2.0 ports. The Desktop is an HP Z2 G9 Tower. I attached the HP PC pdf below and pasted the picture below of the monitor specs.

I was only going by what you wrote down in your initial post, as you said that your computer (you didn't say a model) had a HDMI and DVI graphics output ports, which is not what your HP Z2 G9 desktop has. Sorry the specification table above is the wrong, as the specs above are from Acer 27MX1 model which is the wrong monitor, as these two monitors are on the same SG page on the Acer site and I made a mistake. But below is the full specifications of the Predator XV272U model monitor to give you a full guide.

Now that you have quoted your full system components and I know what your desktop specs are, the best way to connect your HP Z2 G9 desktop to the Predator XV272U monitor to get its full resolution of 2560x1440 @ 144Hz refresher rate is with the DP cable only that Acer provided with the monitor package and the power adapter plugged in that was also included with the monitor package. There is no reason why this monitor should not work or power on with your HP Z2 G9 desktop.

I said in the original post that my PC came with 2 display ports only, and no other options like HDMI and DVI. We did use the cables from the box and they still did not work. We are suspecting maybe a bad DP port on the monitor, but I wanted to come here and ask to make sure that there wasn't some other underlying issue, such as a DP version mismatch or something. Send the monitor back to Acer Tech support in your country if its got HDMI or DP connection issues as the power issues should not be happening, We can only give you what Acer service guide states as what this monitors port specifications are and what Acer provides with this monitor, as out of the box the Predator XV272U monitor should connect to your HP Z2 G9 desktop and work 100% and not have power issues.
