turn red when I open my laptop? I am using a new Dell Inspiron 15, 16 GB memory, i7 processor. I changed HDMI cords, and it still happens. When I close the lid with the cord plugged in, the screen is normal. But if I open the lid, the whole screen turns red. Do I need a driver, changed settings, or a new monitor?

Have you changed the screen settings in Win-11 to the external monitor #2 screen. As your Dell Inspiration 15 laptop HDMI port should work, but the Acer monitor will perform much better with its DP port connection which your Dell laptop does not have a Thunderbolt 4/mini DP type port, as the Dell USB-C port is not a Thunderbolt 4 port with display out, so for display out your Dell can only use the HDMI port.

Also, the Acer monitor has its highest resolution in HDMI at a resolution of 1920x1080p at 144Hz max refresher rate and your Dell laptop has a 1x HDMI v1.4 port that has a maximum resolution supported over HDMI of 1920x1080 @ 60Hz refresher rate. with no 4k/2k output and that is where the problem is, as the laptop could have a fault or the monitor could be faulty and causing the red screen. Good luck and hope this helps you out
