Hi All,

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed I couldn't access my camera. whenever I open the camera app, it says "We can not find your camera", and in my device manager I can no longer see a camera option.

So far, I have tried:

  1. Scan for hardware changes in device manager
  2. Download the latest camera driver and install it
  3. Tweak the camera setting in settings menu
  4. uninstall and reinstall Camera app
  5. install third party Camera app
  6. run windows diagnostic

and nothing has work for me, if someone can help me with this that would be great!

Thank you in advance

if you have done all the above to your PHN16-72 then its got a faulty camera that needs replacing, if your laptop is under the Acer warranty send your laptop to Acer Tech Support in your country and get Acer to replace the camera in your laptop as this entails taking the LCD top cover apart and changing the camera. Good luck and hope this helps to solve your problem.

These are the PHN16-72 cameras fitted by Acer

The error "We can't find your camera" with the code 0xA00F4244 usually indicates a problem with the camera driver or privacy settings. To fix this, try updating the camera driver, running the Windows Camera troubleshooter, checking privacy settings, or temporarily disabling and re-enabling the camera in Device Manager.

    Detailed Steps:-

    1. Update the Camera Driver:
      Go to Device Manager.
      Expand "Cameras."
Right-click on your camera device and select "Update driver."
      Choose "Search automatically for drivers."
    2. Run the Windows Camera Troubleshooter:
      Go to Settings.
Click on "Update & Security" (or "Privacy").
      Click on "Troubleshoot."
Find and run the "Camera" troubleshooter.
    3. Check Camera Privacy Settings:
      Go to Settings.
      Click on "Privacy."
      Click on "Camera."
Ensure that "Allow apps to access your camera" is toggled ON, according to Dell.
    4. Disable and Re-enable the Camera in Device Manager:
      Go to Device Manager.
      Expand "Cameras."
      Right-click on your camera device.
      Select "Disable device."
Then, right-click and select "Enable device."
