Is there a "trouble-free" USB male to 4 pin female Firewire adapter I can use on Acer ESV-189i Pro?

I've been trying to find a USB male Type A or C, to 4 pin female Firewire adapter cable I can use to connect an Acer ESV-189i Pro DVD (4pin male firewire output) and my Acer Nitro laptop (usb female input). I know I could buy a new USB connected optical disc unit, but I prefer not adding to landfill if I can easily avoid it by using something that is known to still work fine on its old Acer computer that had an integral firewire connector.

However, every article I'm finding on this kind of adapter cable (all of them VERY old…like 6 years or more) say this type of conversion is very trouble prone and rarely works. Given the age of the articles, I'm hoping more recent tech has eliminated this supposedly problematic issue. For example, I'm seeing a LOT of 6pin male Firewire to USB-C adapter cables for sale for about US$10 and it's hard to believe these are so popular if they are all problematic.
