Hey there, i have Acer nitro 515-58 2023 model,i was facing battery light blinking problem in my laptop, which i noticed was common in same model,i was dealing it from 5 months by connecting charger in multiple attempts, but on April 15 something strange was starts happening in the middle of my discord streams laptop just starts freezing, for that i did force ahut down and usually it worked for a week, but at the last day of the weak it happened again and this time it doesn't started i noticed that battery wasn't charging either and i had to use pluged in mode for booting up the laptop.

One thing there is to noticed that my battery s backup time started decreasing when everything happened just before it battery gave me a 1 hr backup time on 100% charging

Now I'm using it by plugging in the charger but laptop always get off on itself and it's take multiple attempts to boot up and booting up process is also slowed down as it was not a case before

I contacted service centre for battery replacement but 7309 INR price (90$) is too high for a battery.

So i have some questions that i think might be you guys can resolve:

1) is there any troubleshoot which i can do to fix my battery

2) if i need battery replacement then anyone can suggest me cheaper and reliable option(i can replace it by myself)

3) am i getting it totally wrong and there is another issue

The Nitro 5 AN515-58 laptop is a 2023 released model and its oem battery should not have any discharge problems or its battery need to be replaced, don't waste your money buying a new battery as the problem is NOT the battery.

Try to do a Hard Reset by opening the back of the laptop and taking the main battery out, then disconnect the RTC/bios battery and short its +&- mainboard plug pins for 2 seconds to reset CMOs and take the ram out, then leave the laptop like that for 30min to reset then replace all components and see if the laptop charges.

AN515-58 RTC/BIOS battery, shot its +&- pins for 2 seconds at the circled board plug to reset CMOS.

If the Hard Reset doesn't work, then your AN515-58 laptop has a charring rail fault that its voltage regulator chip or other chips in the charging rail have burned out or are faulty. These faults can's be fixed with a new battery and/or a reset as its the actual laptops mainboard that has faulty components that need replacing, Take your laptop to an experienced technician, as that is the only way that you can fix this laptop properly and make it function 100%. good luck and hope this give you a guide of how to fix your laptop.

Hi, update BIOS with version 2.17 dated 2025/03/11 that addresses power and battery control.

Updating the bios will do nothing to fix the charging fault that you have, but if you don't have the last AN515-58 bios version 2.17 then download the bios and install it. To fix the charging problem do the rest and if that doesn't work then take your laptop to a technician that can pinpoint the exact charging problem fault that your laptop has, as NO reset or bios update will fix anything. Good luck.

A power reset helps clear residual power issues, while running the Windows Power Troubleshooter can detect and fix system-related battery problems. Restarting afterward ensures any applied changes take effect, and installing pending updates maintains system stability by addressing potential software conflicts.
