SN is unreadable so Acer support will not help me.

Comes up with an error that there is a config issue. tries to self diagnose and fails, when trying to put it into safe mode, fails, Trying to reset also fails.

Was working fine yesterday.

None of the suggestions that I have found have worked in regards to powering off and on, holding the power button down, draining the battery.

Hi, if you are not concerned with the warranty, you can try a hard reset:

    Cmos.jpg

Power drain + CMOS reset: Open the back of the laptop and disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard. Locate the CMOS module (with 2 twisted wires Red and Black under the fan, see picture above) and remove the coin battery. Shorten the +/- terminals inside the CMOS capsule for 2 seconds with a bended paperclip and put the coin battery back with the + sign facing up, close the CMOS capsule. Next, press the Power Button on the keyboard for 10-15 seconds and remove the RAM module(s) if you have a spare RAM module install that or replace the original module(s) firmly in the slot(s), after that reconnect the battery cable to the motherboard. Close the laptop, plug-in the adapter and try to boot.

First try accessing Windows Automatic Repair by turning off your laptop, powering it on, and shutting it down again three times until the repair screen appears, then select Safe Mode. If that fails, perform a power reset by unplugging the charger, holding the power button for 15-30 seconds, then reconnecting the charger and turning it back on. Finally, check for Windows updates under SettingsWindows Update, as outdated software can lead to system issues.

Thank you everyone for the assists. Unfortunately it has not worked. I was able to get ahold of the place that I purchased the laptop from and they were able to go back in their records to find the SN. Acer also could not resolve it and are sending a shipping label to have the unit sent back to them to reload the OS.
