Hello, I'm helping a friend with his ACER Tablet. Model No. QCNFA344A. It appears that the battery has swollen and pushed the case/screen apart. I believe the warranty has expired. Is this something that might be covered out of warranty? If not, is it worth trying to repair? Thanks, Todd

The QCNFA344A number only refers to the WLAN + Bluetooth Qualcomm Wi-Fi card of the laptop, is the laptop that your friend has the 2019 Aspire A515-43 model laptop? As you need to tell us which is the exact model.

As if your friends laptop is the A515-43 model then this laptop is a 2019 model and this laptops battery should have been changed at a max interval of 4 years of when the laptop was built, which the built date is on a sticker on the underside of the laptop, the caption above is NOT the model sticker.

If the laptop is older than 3-4 years, that is why the battery has swollen as it gone past its used by date and could have damaged the laptops circuitries and lower case of the laptop. This battery swelling is not covered under Acer warranty after such a long time. What you need to do is to unscrew the bottom case from the laptop and then disconnect the swollen battery and take the battery out, then you need to change and all the laptop components into that lower case and connect the battery for the laptop to boot again, as the laptop should boot and be operational if the battery hasn't damaged any of the laptops major chips. good luck and hope this helps you out, if the laptop is a different model to the Asp[ire A515-43 let us know and we can guide you what lower case and battery the laptop requires.

If the model above is the Aspire A515-43 or A515-43G model laptop then these are the parts that you need to replace and swap all the components into the new lower case for the laptop to boot again.
