Acer Care Center not working in Windows 11 on a nitro 5 AN 515-44

For many months now I've been having issues with Care Center. At first it would open the program's process but not display anything on the GUI. I got around this by reinstalling the program whenever it happened. One day even this method stopped working. I tried all of the solutions online, nothing works.

If your suggested solution is one already on this site don't bother typing, I've already tried it at least a hundred times and that isn't an exaggeration. I've tried waiting for numerous windows updates hoping something would change with a new version but to no avail.

I'd just give up but I need the function that stops battery charging at 80%. I'm on my laptop almost 24/7 and having to constantly unplug and replug the charger gets infuriating after a very short while.

You don’t need to use the 80% battery limit, and you can uninstall the Acer Care Center app, as it is often buggy and not very useful.

If you want to avoid battery degradation, keep your laptop battery 100% and plugged in while gaming or doing regular work.

Calibrate your battery once in every 2–3 months to maintain its health. To do this, unplug your laptop and use it on battery until it drops to 5%, then charge it to 100% without interruption. After that, you can continue using it plugged in for the next 2–3 months.

If you want to use your laptop on battery sometimes, that’s fine, but try not to let the battery drop below 20%, and avoid doing this frequently. As regular discharging and charging battery reduce its lifespan as their are limited number of cycles. Also, when I use my laptop on battery I don't do battery calibration.

When your laptop is shut down, turn off the wall outlet button in which AC adapter is connected for safety and to prevent unnecessary power draw.

That’s all. This is what I’ve been doing for 5 years since I got my Nitro 5, and I’ve never faced any battery issues.

Thank you, your solution is a little counterintuitive given the prevailing information and advice on maintaining battery health, but it does seem to make sense. I've tried everything else a billion times (this time I am exaggerating, if only a little lol), might as well try this. Thanks again.

what doesn't make sense to you? Modern laptops use lithium-ion batteries and smart charging circuits that help protect the battery when plugged in. Keeping your laptop plugged in can reduce the number of charge cycles, which helps extend battery lifespan.

Also, 80% battery limit cause windows power management issue If you switch to heavy work from light.

No no lol the exact opposite. I said it DOES make sense, it just feels counterintuitive because so much info says to not fully charge the battery. Wish I'd had this info years ago and saved myself a lot of stress
