Hi guys,
after experiencing touchpad issue on my Swift Go 14 (SFG14-63), I checked this forum and found that I'm not the only one. I have this laptop + - 3 weeks so it's new. After few days after purchase I got touchpad not working issue. I'm experienced HW guy so automatically checked everything - drivers, updates and so on. The issue was caused by Windows 11 update, but it only disables touchpad on Acers and solution is Fn+F10. Simple as that.
BUT ! There's another touchpad issue in parallel with this Fn+F10 "issue". After 2 weeks my touchpad stopped working again. I automatically pressed Fn+F10….but nothing, no mouse cursor. I rebooted to BIOS and touchpad was working there - so no mechanical HW issue, but something SW-related. After reboot touchpad started work again. I checked drivers, everything looks ok, reinstalled I/O driver and did few shutdowns/starts to check situation. These SFG14-63 models doesn't have touchpad driver in the list of drivers (touchpad without that shiny SWIFT logo), also no touchpad settings in BIOS. It relays on Microsoft HID-compliant touch pad driver
So, summary - 2 separate issues with our touchpads - one caused by Win11 update which silently disables touchpad (solution Fn+F10), and another SW-related, which is happening randomly with random solutions (Win update rollback, or reboot, or accessing BIOS first…). Yeah, and of course, in System / Bluetooth & devices / Touchpad is touchpad Enabled all the time. Looks that it's only Windows-related (because touchpad has no issues while using different OSs) and Acer should (in cooperation with MS) release specific BIOS update for each Acer model, or to release new Acer TP driver for each model to replace that generic MS one (Microsoft HID-compliant touch pad)
