I have a Nitro AN515-56. For the past few days my wifi option keeps disappearing. Once even the bluetooth option vanished. It reappears after I reinstall the driver through troubleshoot, but it happens frequently.

The exact message that it shows is "The driver for your Killer® Wi-Fi 6 AX1650i 160 MHz Wireless Network Adapter (201NGW) network adapter isn't running."

Grateful for any advice!

Hi, check that your BIOS is updated to version 1.10 dated 2024/04/29. All drivers on Acer Support are from 2021, suggesting that Acer hasn't officially released Windows 11 24H2-specific drivers for this model yet. If you upgraded to Windows11 24H2 consider reinstalling Windows11 23H2, the ISO file can be downloaded from UUPdump.net

Start by updating the driver from the official website, as outdated drivers can cause instability. Next, disable the power management feature in Device Manager to prevent your computer from turning off the adapter to save power. You can also reset network settings through Windows, which will reinstall network adapters and restore default configurations. Ensure your operating system is up-to-date by installing the latest Windows updates, as they may include fixes for such issues.

Thank you for your response. I checked my bios. It is version 1.10. How do I check which version of Windows have I installed?

If the WiFi option is disappearing on your Nitro laptop, it could be due to a few reasons, including disabled WiFi, a physical switch, or a driver issue. To resolve this, try toggling the WiFi with an Fn key (usually Fn+F2 or the WiFi symbol), checking for a physical switch, and updating or reinstalling the WiFi driver through Device Manager. You can also try scanning for hardware changes in Device Manager or resetting the BIOS to default settings.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of potential solutions:

    1. Check for a Physical Switch:
Some laptops have a physical switch or button that turns WiFi on/off. Look around the laptop for a switch or button that controls WiFi.
    2. Toggle WiFi with an Fn Key:
Try pressing the Fn key along with the WiFi key (usually F2, F12, or a key with the WiFi symbol). This might toggle WiFi on or off.
    3. Check Device Manager:
      Access Device Manager:
Search for "Device Manager" in the Windows search bar and open it.
      Locate Wireless Adapter:
Expand "Network Adapters" and look for your wireless adapter (usually labeled as "Wireless LAN" or similar).
      Disable and Enable:
Right-click the adapter and select "Disable." Then, right-click again and select "Enable".
      Scan for Hardware Changes:
Go to the "Action" menu in Device Manager and select "Scan for hardware changes".
    4. Update or Reinstall Drivers:
Access Device Manager: (as described above).
Right-click the Wireless Adapter: Select "Update driver".
Choose Automatic Update: Choose "Search automatically for drivers".
If Update Fails: If automatic update fails, try "Uninstall device." Then restart your laptop, and Windows will automatically try to reinstall the driver.
