I have an acer predator Helios 300 that used to belong to my cousin for years. I replaced the thermal paste today, attempted to start it up, and sure, i hear it power up, but I don’t see my keyboard or screen turn on. I cleaned off any excessive thermal paste. No change. Did a battery reset where I disconnect both battery and coin battery, no change. I connected it to my tv to see if the screen would pop up there, nothing. Please help.

Hi, I noticed that you are using the laptop on a soft pillow completely blocking the air inlet fans at the bottom, also fluid containers are precariously close to the laptop ready to topple and spill on the keyboard. Besides this, check the RAM modules and if nothing helps bring the laptop to a qualified and preferably Acer accredited PC repair shop in your area to check the motherboard and EDP/KB cables.

You can start by performing a battery reset using the pinhole located at the bottom of the laptop. Insert a paperclip, press it for about 4 seconds, and leave the laptop disconnected from power for 5 minutes. Next, drain residual power by turning off the laptop, unplugging all cables, and holding the power button for 30 seconds before reconnecting the charger and trying to power it on. Verify the charger is functioning by testing it with a different power outlet or another compatible device. If your laptop has a removable battery, take it out, press the power button for 1 minute, then reinsert the battery, connect the charger, and power it back on.

If your Acer Predator Helios 300 won't turn on and the screen is black, it could be due to a few issues, including a faulty battery, power supply, or a more complex internal problem. Start with a hard reset by removing the battery (if possible) and holding the power button for 30 seconds. If that doesn't work, check the power adapter and try connecting it to a different outlet. If the laptop still doesn't respond, it might require professional repair.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of troubleshooting steps:

    1. Hard Reset (If Possible)
Disconnect power: Unplug the power adapter from the laptop and the wall outlet.
Remove battery (if removable): If your Helios 300 has a removable battery, take it out.
Hold power button: Press and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds to discharge residual power.
Reinstall battery and power adapter: Plug the power adapter back in and reinsert the battery if it's removable.
Try turning on: Press the power button to see if the laptop starts.
    2. Check Power Adapter
      Test the adapter:
Plug the power adapter into a different working outlet to rule out a faulty outlet.
      Check for damage:
Inspect the power adapter for any damage, such as frayed wires or a broken plug.
      Try a different adapter:
If possible, try using a different Acer-compatible power adapter to see if the problem persists.
    3. Check for External Display
      Connect to external monitor:
If possible, connect the laptop to an external monitor using an HDMI or VGA cable to see if the issue is with the laptop's display.
      Check for visual output:
If the external monitor displays something, the problem might be with the laptop's internal display.
    4. Advanced Troubleshooting (If Previous Steps Fail)
Listen for startup sounds: If the laptop is making any noises (like fans or a drive starting), it might indicate a partial startup.
Check for LED lights: See if any lights on the laptop are lit up.
Consider professional repair: If the laptop still doesn't work, it might have a more complex internal problem that requires professional diagnosis and repair.
    5. Battery Issues
      Battery indicator light:
If your laptop has a battery indicator light, check to see if it's working and what color it is.
