Hey everyone,
I'm looking into upgrading my server memory and came across the Samsung M386A8K40BM2-CTD, a 64GB DDR4-2666MHz ECC Registered DIMM. It seems well-suited for enterprise applications, but I’d love to hear from anyone who has actually used it.

  • How's the performance under load (virtualization, databases, etc.)?
  • Any compatibility issues with specific server models?
  • What about heat or power consumption concerns?

Appreciate any insights before I pull the trigger on it. Also, I found it available here:

With ram, you must appreciate that we can't advise you precisely by just the type of ram that you have listed, as you need to tell us what Acer desktop model your are using, as all desktops have different suggested ram that Acer tested the desktop with and recommends and we can give you a list of appropriate ram suitable for your desktop.

With DDR4-3200MT/s type ram most desktops use the CL22 type ram so try to upgrade to that sort of a ram spec. The Samsung M386A8K40BM2-CTD 64GB Kit is a DDR4-2666/PC4-21300 RDIMM 288-Pin and has CL19 Quad Rank x4 ECC Registered Memory Module.
