GPU is slow until I disable and re-enable it in device manager. How do I fix this Nitro 5 AN515-57?

I'm on an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 (Windows 11 24H2). I noticed a while back the GPU was slower than before. I couldn't figure out what the issue nor fix was until I found a very helpful Reddit thread which stated the fix was to disable/enable the GPU again in the device manager - this restored the good performance I originally had. Only problem is the positive effects of this fix wear off after a certain point (I can't figure out the trigger at the moment), and I have to keep disabling and enabling.

Is there a way to fix this permanently?

P.S. for reference on how much slower the GPU gets: my Blender Cycles renders that take 9-12 seconds to complete take 45-54 seconds to complete when the GPU slows down.

Hi, download DDU freeware from Wagnardsoft.com and in Safe Mode uninstall the dGPU driver with DDU (click on Clean and Restart), do not install GPU drivers but let Windows11 install drivers. The last BIOS released was 2023/09/13, keep checking for a newer BIOS version for 24H2. ttps://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091878/graphics.html

Make sure that you have the last AN515-57 bios 1.20 installed and also Win-11 24H2 updated to the last OS build: 26100.3775 as that will have the last NVidia driver for the AN515-57 gpu. If all doesn't fix this problem, then do a clen install of Win-11 again and see if that fixes the gpu driver..

Hi, I have a bit of confusion about the BIOS. On System Information, the BIOS version is 1.20 and the date is 06/07/2023. However, the Acer site and you say the last BIOS update is 1.20 and that its date is 09/13/2023. Should I or should I not update the BIOS when I have 1.20 but a different date?

The dates are not relevant to the bios programing that the version 1.20 has, as they are the same. If you update the same bios the Insyde flash program will not flash the same bios version.
