Hi, can someone tell me what this USBC port is for. on a

XV345CURV3

Can I use this as a third Input. for Example,

I have the HDMI connected to my laptop already

I have the DP connected to my PC Already

Can I then add a third device to switch between e.g. PS5, switch etc. into this port? if so, what do I need to buy?

Also, what is the actual Spec of this monitor, when I bought it from Ebuyer it said it was HDMI 2.1 and as far as I can see it isn't?

Hi, the USB-C port on the Acer XV345CURV3 monitor supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, which allows video signal transmission to compatible devices. This means you can use the USB-C port as an input for video from devices like laptops or gaming consoles that support DisplayPort over USB-C. However, it cannot be used to output a DisplayPort signal to another device, as it functions solely as an input. The HDMI port on the Acer XV345CURV3 monitor is HDMI 2.0, not HDMI 2.1

Hi Thank You, So if i wanted to use this port to connect say My Switch or PS5, what cable to i need to look for ? How do i know its the correct one, i did get one from amazon but it didnt work in the direction i wanted too…

For example I guess i need HDMI from the Device, (PS5) etc to USBC to the Monitor… The cable i got would only go USBC from my laptop to the HDMI on the monitor…

    Thanks

DP / HDMI - USB C - Main PC (Bi Direct Cable) From Video Card

Hdmi - HDMi- Laptop (Normal Cable)

Hdmi - DP (Bi Direct Cable) - PS5

Yes, it would have to be either a bi-directional cable or a HDMI to USB-C, not a USB-C to HDMI. You will find they are tough to find, since almost all go the wrong direction.
