Hi all, I have the Acer Travelmate P416-52G-73ZC and I would like to know if there is enough space to mount the Samsung 9100 PRO SSD with heatsink inside the notebook and if the notebook is fully compatible with this SSD.

Thank you for response.

Hi, the Gen4 SSD is supported and the heatsink should be no problem, but Samsung has a cooler SSD, IMO more suitable for a slim notebook, consider the 990 Evo Plus up to 4TB that only requires a thin thermal wrap or no wrap for 1TB modules.

Your Travelmate P416-52G-73ZC laptop has 2x Gen 4 x4 lane SSD slots, but this laptop does NOT have the space to fit a Samsung 990 Pro + Heatsink into its M.2 SSD slots, if you fit one of these M.2 drives with a heatsink, you will NOT be able to close the back lid as the Samsung 990 Pro + Heatsink drives profile is too high for the Travelmate P416-52G back lid to be closed. Don't waste your money on these more expensive drive, just buy a Samsung 990 Pro and fit a thin copper heatsink that has a thin enough profile so that your laptops back lid can be closed.

Note: The Travelmate P416-52G-73ZC laptop has a Height: 18.9 mm (0.74 in) while the Predator Helios Neo which can accommodate the Samsung 990 Pro + Heatsink comfortably has a Height: 26.55/28.25 mm (1.05/1.11 in) which is considerably higher than the Travelmate laptop that you have. Btw, I'm using the Samsung 990 Pro + Heatsink in my PHN16-71 which is specially built for these high performance M.2 SSD drives and their heatsinks while your Travelmate P416-52G is not, so be aware of this and don't waste your money on these higher cost drives. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

    Thank you for response.

I use the notebook for my job as teacher in software development and scientific processing, but not for video games. Moreover, a partition of the SSD disk must store some GB for personal storage.

With these requirements I have to choose between 990 pro 1TB and 9100 Pro 1TB (without heatsink😅).
