Hello,

New issue, the laptop only seems to recognize power through the power cable, it immediately turns off when it's unplugged. When plugged in it shows the battery has a full charge, but somehow it can't switch over? It will not turn on when unplugged, totally dead.

Try a power reset. To reset your Acer laptop using the battery reset pinhole, first ensure the laptop is turned off and unplugged from the AC adapter. Locate the battery reset pinhole on the bottom of your laptop, usually marked with a battery icon. Using a small paperclip or a similar object, press and hold the reset button inside the pinhole for about 5 seconds. After releasing the button, wait for approximately 5 minutes before plugging in the AC adapter and powering on your laptop. This process temporarily disconnects and reconnects the internal battery, which can help resolve power and battery-related issues.

Ensure the power cord is firmly connected to both the laptop and the wall outlet. Try a different power adapter or wall outlet to rule out issues with the power supply.
Open Device Manager, go to Batteries, and uninstall both Microsoft AC Adapter and Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery. Then, restart your computer.
Inspect the charging port for any damage or signs of loose solder. If you suspect a problem with the charging port, you may need to replace it.

Try to generate a battery report to understand why it's not working without the charger.
Search for Command Prompt in the Windows search bar and open it. Run the Command: Type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter.
The battery report will be generated in the user's documents folder. You can find it at C:\Users<user_name>\battery_report.html.
Double-click the battery_report.html file to open it in your web browser. The report will show details like battery capacity, health, and usage patterns.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

Hi, if resetting the battery with the pinhole doesn't work, I recommend taking the laptop to Acer Services in your country, the laptop still has warranty, but the battery and adapter warranty is only for one year.
