Acer Aspire 7 A715-76G Issues with Monitor

Hello, I'm planning on buying a 165hz/240hz 1080p monitor to use along my laptop (Apire 7 A715-76G with I5 12th gen and RTX 3050 version), however, I want to understand if it would work properly. I know my laptop comes with HDMI 2.1 so as long as the monitor supports 240hz over HDMI, I should be fine. In case it does not, would I be able to use the thunderbolt4 with an adaptor to display port 1.4 ? Also, another issue would be if the GSYNC would work on it, because as it stands now, both the laptop display and the current monitor I have(connected through HDMI) are connected to the iGPU, and not the dGPU. I have not found a solution for this.

The A715-76G TBT4 port is a DisplayPort over USB-C so you can use a USB-C to DP cable to connect a 165/240Hz refresher rate external monitor with and get the highest resolutions from your A715-76G laptop. The A715-76G has a HDMI v2.0 port not a v2.1 port. good luck and hope this helps you out.

Get a DP to USB-C cable to connect the new 165/240Hz refresher rate monitor with

These are the specs of the TBT4 and USB-C port that your A715-76G has from its Acer SG

Does this mean that using a USB-C to DP adapter will guarantee that the monitor will be directly connected to the dGPU - RTX 3050 ? As for the HDMI, there is a sticker on my laptop saying it supports HDMI 2.0. Also, shouldn't the HDMI port be directly wired to dGPU ? It seems like no matter what monitor I try to connect it to, the HDMI will always route to iGPU. Is there a way of bypassing this ? I need my monitor to be directly wired to the dGPU

The laptop automatically uses either the Intel graphics or for the higher end graphics it uses the the RTX3050 as its required by software, as your A715-76G can't be specifically set to the NVidia RTX3035 GPU in bios to only work with that GPU. The USB-C to DP adapter cable will give better refresher rate and resolution than the HDMI cable.
