I want to enable virtualization in my laptop but I don’t see the option in the bios to enable, when I check in the system info it says virtualization is running but I am not not able to enable intel Vtx in VMware.

Is it hidden or locked in bios?

Any solutions?

What is the full model number and the windows os version installed on your Aspire 3 AXXX-XXX=XX

Ensure your CPU supports virtualization technology (VT-x for Intel, AMD-V for AMD). You need a 64-bit CPU.
Ensure you have at least 4 GB of RAM.

The CPU and/or motherboard of some Acer Aspire 3 models might not natively support virtualization technologies like Intel VT-x or AMD-V. Use the Intel Processor Identification Utility or a similar tool for AMD to verify if your CPU supports virtualization.

    Check for BIOS/UEFI Settings:
Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the designated key (usually F2, Delete, or F10) to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup. Navigate to the CPU configuration, advanced settings, or security tabs, looking for terms like Intel Virtualization Technology, "VT-x, SVM, or simply "Virtualization. If found, enable the relevant option and save the changes before exiting the BIOS/UEFI.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

    Model: Acer aspire 3 A324-53

    Windows version: 24H2

it shows virtualization is enabled in the task manager even the intel utility shows virtualization is enabled, whereas in the bios there is no option for virtualization to enable it.

If you have VBS enabled, it might indicate that virtualization is active, even if you don't see a BIOS option. If Task Manager and the Intel utility show virtualization as enabled, it means that the hardware supports it and it's enabled in the BIOS

Open the Control Panel, go to "Programs", and select "Turn Windows features on or off". Ensure that "Virtual Machine Platform" is checked. Restart your PC: After enabling the feature, restart your computer. If the issue persists with VMware, try a different virtualization software like VirtualBox to see if the problem is specific to VMware.

Also, Go to "Turn Windows features on or off" and ensure "Hyper-V" is not checked. Restart your laptop after disabling Hyper-V.

In the VMware vSphere Web Client, right-click the virtual machine, select Edit Settings, go to the Virtual Hardware tab, expand CPU, and enable Expose hardware-assisted virtualization to guest OS.

I hope this helps! If this was useful, please hit 'Yes' or 'Like'! Thanks! 😊

The issue still remains same, without virtualization option in the bios.

is there a reason this settings are hidden or not shown?

It should be enabled from bios by default. I don't know much about this but this may help.

    Disable Conflicting Features:

    • Go to Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off.
    • Ensure that Hyper-VVirtual Machine Platform, and Windows Hypervisor Platform are unchecked. Restart your system after making changes. Now check
    • As I think visualization is enabled by system. Its VMware issue. Make sure you are using latest version.

If persists then you need enable Hyper-VVirtual Machine Platform, and Windows Hypervisor Platform from control panel again.

    Now check again

Tried all the above still the bios does not show the virtualization option, vmware is running on latest version.
