I've got a week old V16 first couple of days the battery was good and giving me around 5 hours use, now it lasts just over 2 hours I don't use it for gaming and usually run it in balanced mode. I've done a battery calibration and also conditioned it when I first got it I've also turned off some of the services it's running bare bones of applications but it doesn't seem to make a difference any advice appreciated?

Hi, what upgrades/updates have you done last week? You may have more background apps running, open Task Manager-Processes and check the number of background programs, if more than 70 you should uninstall some preinstalled programs, browsers, virus checkers, trial versions or firmware added with updates. Also use Best Power Efficiency mode in Power & Battery settings. 2-3 hours battery backup is normal for a new high-grade battery, if you had 5 hours backup you must have had the screen brightness dimmed by half, no telemetric (apps uploading stuff to cloud) and the Battery Saver on.

Hi, I'm not new to software with 30 years experience of windows flashing and modding android & Apple devices and building pcs and installing windows, as I have said I have turned a lot of the services off (task manager processes root trees) I don't have programs running in the background nor did I have telemetrics off the only updates I have done are to Win 11 and NVidia driver. If the battery was showing 5 hours then it should still be that it won't show 2 hours because its new especially if it has previously been showing a higher charge state

Then you should also know the consumption of the dGPU and that 2 hours battery backup is good and that 5 hours backup is not very realistic unless everything is turned off. 😉
