Swift 14 AI SF14-51 touchpad can be pressed form bottom! Does Acer plan to improve this element?

Hi!

I recently bought the Swift 14 AI model, it's my first Acer, I didn't expect miracles, but I've had many laptops or ultrabooks, none of them had the problem that Acer has, so I'm afraid of a mistake at the design stage of the device.

The rigidity of the structure and the plastic bottom mean that when I work with the computer on my lap, the touchpad can be pressed by the sheer weight of the device.

Thanks to the notebookcheck test, I found a photo of the device without the bottom cover, it shows the location of the touchpad switch, it is practically uncovered.

This model is therefore an ultrabook with which we can work only by placing it on a hard and smooth surface.

Does Acer plan to improve this element by replacing the lower casing with a metal element? Or maybe strengthening its structure? Are such improved devices already on sale? Perhaps I received a pre-production model?

Apart from the weak speakers, this model is a really nice device that I would like to stay with the Acer family longer, but such imperfections are unacceptable.

First of all and due to this model being so new, Acer does not have a service guide as yet for the Swift 14 AI SF14-51 model laptop, so we can't guide you on what bottom cases this laptop has or their Acer part number, but if this happens with the touchpad, then its a fault within your laptop and you need to send your Swift laptop to Acer Tech Support in your country so that they can fix this problem, as I own a previous 2022 Swift SFX14-51G model and I haven't had that problem. Good luck.

Thank you for your answer, i think the bottom of the housing is made of plastic?, from what I noticed the Swift 14 series also with Snapdargon processors has the same touchpad exposed under the housing.

I wonder if the problem also occurs with them…
