I have an issue with my new TC-1780 tower, when I add any additional memory to the empty slot, I get the BIOS alarm and start-up stops.

At purchase the PC had 16, now trying to upgrade to 32.

I am using Crucial DDR4 Pro (DDR4-3200 UDIMM 1.2V CL22

Cheers for any guidance

Have you tried re-seating the ram and visual check for alignment ?

Does the 16 Unit still work alone ??

From my research, It seems to be an OK choice BUT someone in a higher pay grade may need to verify ?

    Good Luck.

The Pro memory is XMP, so if it works at all will run at the base JEDEC speed of 2133. Return it and get the classic instead, which doesn't support XMP so will run at the rated speed.

Thank you. The reason I am using the Pro is this was the original single card installed.
I take on board about the speed and will probably update later 😀

The problem I seem to have is that the 2nd slot not live/working 😫

Hi, thank you for your response.

I have tried reseating the RAM, and tried various combinations as per attached PDF. I think this shows the 2nd slot as disabled or failed.

Is there anyway of proving further my suspicion on this?

Do a visual under a magnifying glass on slot 2, Are there, any bent pins or tarnished pins ?

    Nice chart .
