can aspire one aod255-e screen resolution be upgraded for the use of windows 8 tiles?

    Well thankfully the AOD255E is on the upgrade list so it does look like it should work. you may however need to update some drivers that should be available on www.support.acer.com

    doesn't support over 1024x600 - need 1024x768 to use tiles in windows-8 start screen

    Well the basic Req is below. The unit does meet the req but the resolotion does not. Im not able to find a way around this from the microsoft page http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/system-requirements
    Hope all goes well and hope you find a way around this

     

    Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with support for PAE, NX, and SSE2 (more info)


    RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)


    Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)


    Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver

    Additional requirements to use certain features:

    To use touch, you need a tablet or a monitor that supports multitouch (more info)
