Hi, please post your full laptop model and tell us if Windows10/11 is installed already but BIOS does not detect the boot drive or are you installing Windows and the drive is not detected during the installation?

During the Windows installation, you have to manually load the IRST drivers. You shouldn't disable secure boot, since that opens you up to a number of malware packages. What drive are you trying to put in to replace the existing 512GB? Have you thought about cloning the old drive to the new one, so you don't have to reinstall?

Go the Acer support page for the SFX14-71G and download the IRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology) Driver version 19.5.1.1040 then put this driver on the Win-11 bootable installation USB and then when you get to the Win-11 installation section @ Where do you want to install Windows? > Load driver (see below) you load the IRST VMD 09AB controller driver as afterwards your M.2 Micron drive will be recognized and you can finish the Win-11 installation, its a simple process.

Win-11 section where you install the IRST driver @ Load driver below

Thank you very much for your support

I finally found and disable VMD option by CRTL+S in BIOS

Already replaced a bigger SSD drive and installed windows successfully.

That works in many situations, as long as any of the IRST functions (like RAID) aren't enabled. If some of the IRST functions are enabled, and you don't disable them first, you can end up with a corrupted Windows after doing that disable of VMD. That is why we suggest loading the drivers instead… And also why we suggest just cloning the old drive to the new one instead of doing a full Windows install.
