edited March 26 in Swift and Spin Series

I just bought an Acer Swift SF16-51T. My current SMBIOS version is 3.6 and Embedded Controller version is 1.08. I see on the Acer support site for this model what seems to be a newer BIOS - version 1.11 but there is no info posted about this BIOS update. Where can I find more info and comment on recommendation on whether I should install it.
thanks,

Firmware updates often include bug fixes, security patches, and performance improvements. Regularly updating these firmware versions ensures that your system remains stable, secure, and efficient.

Updates ME firmware and EC version" typically refers to software utilities or tools that update the firmware of the Intel Management Engine (ME) and the Embedded Controller (EC) on a computer system.

The ME is a small, embedded system on the motherboard that handles various functions, including power management, security, and remote management. Updating the ME firmware can improve system stability, security, and performance.
The EC is another embedded system that controls various hardware components, such as the keyboard, touchpad, and battery charging. Updating the EC firmware can improve the functionality and efficiency of these components.

First, the revision numbers you list are only for portions of the BIOS. Go into the actual BIOS and the full version will be displayed at the top. If it is 1.11, which as far as I know the only one on production machines, then there's no need to do anything. If it's lower than 1.11 then you can upgrade pretty safely by just following the normal procedure for Windows with the laptop charged enough and the charger plugged in. We don't typically see any more details as to what a BIOS update actually addresses other than the note that's on the support site, so a management engine update in the case of 1.11.

    Thanks folks.

System BIOS is 1.08 as noted in the enclosed photo. Is there any documentation that lists the changes/corrections in BIOS v 1.11?

There likely is documentation somewhere, but it's not visible to the general public, to Acer Aces here or to the Acer support personnel. Go ahead and do the update, the management engine is worth it by itself.
