I recently bought Acer swift go 14 ultra 5, while using 100w charger it starts gaining temperature and at this time it gets too hot. Is it normal or else I got a defective laptop?

Hi, the SFG14-71 comes with a 100W USB Type-C charger. If your notebook has the U-series CPUs, the power adapter will be the regular barrel port 65W power adapter. The 100W USB-C charger during the fast-charging stage will heat up the laptop battery, that is normal, once the battery is fully charged it will cool off to normal ambient temperature.

I am having Ultra 5 125h series laptop and it has 100w charger type-c. The CPU temp goes above 80 deg Celsius and it is metal body laptop so it gets too hot that is unbearable to touch it. I don't think it is normal. Kindly check the issue I am afraid to charge the laptop.

Yes, it's normal for the laptop to get hotter while charging than when running at full charge or when running on battery. These newer designs also run hotter than the old ones, with the CPU high temp allowed at 115C vs. the old 100C.

Laptop components can sustain temperatures up to 100°C. but not for long. If you keep your battery fully charged with the charger plugged in 24/7 the charger won't have to switch to high power to fast charge but will use the low voltage to charge.
The most common reason for overheating is inadequate airflow within the device. Some other potential reasons why your laptop might overheat are: Blocked air vents. Placing your laptop on a soft or uneven surface like a bed, rug, or couch reduces airflow as the vents are covered.
