Acer Nitro ANV16-41 battery draining issue

For reference, I am talking about the Ryzen 7 8845HS and RTX 4060 model.

I have read posts addressing this issue, and people tried to use a more powerful power adapter and it still didn't fix the power drain. I have tried to fix the issue by limiting the power draw to the power supply, however in the tests that I have ran, even if the overall wattage consumption of the system was under 135W (around 118W), it still kept on consuming power from the battery. Acer said that the GPU has a max core clock of 2090MHz when boosting, however I have found the frequency to be at around 2560-2600MHz when playing a game. The GPU didn't consume more than 85W at all during gameplay, averaging at around 71W, and it still drained. I have checked HWiNFO and it showed that the GPU was getting 62W, while it was consuming 65W. Couldn't check the voltage of the laptop since Windows can't show the voltage provided by the power adapter, however I have checked the power adapter with a multimeter and it appeared like it provided the 19.5V it says it provides. Which begs the question: if the system consumes less than the aforementioned 135W of maximum power, why does it still use the battery?

Acer implemented the hybrid boost technology, but it is using it at all times, even when unecessary. I can understand the laptop consuming from its own battery when it is in turbo mode for example and the system surpasses the 135W max power, but when it is consuming less it shouldn't even be touching the battery.

Acer needs to release an update to fix the hybrid power boost feature and to either stop consuming from the battery when in performance or in turbo mode or to allow higher wattage power adapters in order to suffice the power draw from the GPU and CPU in those modes.

If anyone can contact Acer and tell them what they should do, it would be great. And if anyone has any idea how this could be fixed instead of returning the laptop that would be great too.

Hi, did you update BIOS to version 1.12 dated 2024/12/27 and Windows11 23H2 to the latest build? If your laptop supports Modern Standby that drains a battery, there have been some improvements released by Acer and Microsoft the last couple of months. Also use Best Power Efficiency mode in Power & Battery settings.

and disable the Fast Startup and Hibernate options in "Change what closing the lid does" and in "Change settings currently unavailable"

Hello Puraw, thank you for the response. Yes, the bios is up-to-date on version 1.12 and I have the latest version of Windows 11, neither are the culprit. Best power efficiency is like drinking alcohol, so no thank you, I prefer my computer sober, and fast startup and hibernate are already disabled completely from Windows.
