II have an acer laptop. I have recently changed its battery, but it is not functioning properly. Laptop goes off at 30 percent only without any prior alert.

Hi, a new battery needs one Full Charge Cycle for BIOS and MS ACPI battery protocol to register the full capacity, failing to do so will result in what you described as the old battery data is still used by the system. Uninstall Fast Startup and Hibernate in "Change what closing the lid does", and in "Change settings currently unavailable", Update your BIOS or if you have the latest BIOS version, reset BIOS with F9 in BIOS and F10 in BIOS to save the changes. Boot to Windows and reset the Power Plan in "Edit Power Plan", in Device Manager uninstall the 2 battery drivers on the picture below.

Shut down the laptop the correct way by clicking on Start-Power icon on the Taskbar and close the lid. Plug in the power adapter and charge till the amber battery LED turns blue, wait an extra 10 minutes. Open the lid and boot to Windows, verify that the Battery meter on the Taskbar reads 100% and unplug the power adapter. Work normally till the laptop shuts down on its own, don't press the power button, don't suspend or go to sleep mode, just close the lid you won't lose data. Plug in the power adapter and charge till the amber battery LED on the laptop turns blue. Wait an extra 10 minutes. That's it. You only need to do this procedure with a new battery once and after reinstalling Windows. Do not use "Battery Calibration, Optimization or 80% battery charge limiter" programs, including those options in Acer Care Center and Acer Sense.
