Hello,

My laptop (Win 11 Home) want to install windows update 24H2 but every time (4 times now in the past 2 month) it fails. During rebooting/installation/updating it says "your computer ran into a problem" and it rolls back the installation. Windows update gives each time a code "0xc1900101" indicating a driver problem? But all drivers are I think up-to-date.

The laptop is just a few month old (from October 2024) and just used for some office work.
Software Office 365, Norton 360, Citrix Workspace.
Note: disabling Norton before installation doesn't help.

Furthermore, the device manager doesn't show any device problems.
Note: the fingerprint scanner seems not to work properly, but disabling the device in the device manager doesn't help to install 24H2.

I am using a Dell dock UD22 with this laptop. But updating the laptop "standalone" does not help either.

I hope someone has a solution. Many thanks in advance for a reply.

BR, Niels

A Windows update 24H2 failing repeatedly could be due to several reasons, including known compatibility issues with your hardware, outdated drivers, conflicting software, network problems, or simply a bug within the update itself, particularly as the 24H2 update is currently reported to have several compatibility issues with certain devices and configurations, causing installation failures on some systems.
