Want to expand my Ram and Hard Drive but not looking to upgrade to a gaming computer. Just a little extra speed and room for pictures and music.

Hi, you can use two modules of DDR4 3200MHz PC-25600 modules to upgrade RAM: Memory for a Acer - Aspire XC-1660 / XC-1660G - Kingston Technology Acer recommends 2 x 16GB RAM maximum.

The Acer Aspire XC-1660G-UW92 features a PCIe M.2 slot that supports NVMe SSDs with a PCIe 3.0 x4 interface, the Samsung 970 Evo Plus Gen3 SD up to 2TB would be a good storage drive, Gen4 NVMe SSDs will also work but run at Gen3 speed.

Since you got conflicting answers there, I'll weigh in. Here are the two specs shown in the SG:

So Jack's answer was correct. For the SSD, either a SATA or NVMe drive works in the M.2 SSD slot. An NVMe will be much faster than a SATA, but don't pay extra for a gen 4.0, the slot is gen 3.0 and a 4.0 will work, but at the slower speeds of the 3.0. You are also not in any way limited to the size. You can put in as large as you can afford.
