Hi all,

I purchased an Acer Swift 14 AI in December 2024, I have had no issues until today.
I was doing some light work - internet browser, emails, word doc, when the screen froze and then showed the blue error screen.
The information collection did not change from 0% in 10 minutes so I did a force shut down by holding the power button. Then when I tried turning it back on, the keyboard lights turned on, but the display and fan will not turn on.
I have tried a 30 second hard reset, a 30 second battery disconnect using a paperclip on the bottom of the laptop, and I have also tried connecting to an external monitor.
all of these will no success.

Can anyone please provide some help… I have uni assignments due soon! 😱

Your Swift laptop is under Acer warranty, go to the Drivers and Manuals page > for your country, and on the left side click the Warranty Inquiry > fill in the details for your Swift laptop to be repaired and get a shipping label to send your laptop to Acer in your country.

Then send your Swift 14 to Acer Tech Support, as I don’t know if your Swift has any Acer warranty sticker so that you can’t open the laptop, so check that, as you could void the laptops warranty and I would not take a chance on that by opening the back cover of your Swift 14 laptop. And also, the Swift 14 laptops back cover are very hard to open as you need a special prying tool to pry it open and you could scratch the back lid also.

If you don’t care about the above and the warranty, and you need your laptop, one of the other ways to fix this black screen problem, is to do a proper Hard Reset by taking the back cover off and taking the main battery out, then disconnecting the bios battery and shorting the bios battery mainboard plug +&- pins to reset CMOS and then leaving the laptop like that for 30 min so that the EC, chipset and bios chips reset properly and then replace everything and reboot the laptop, as after doing this, your laptop will boot 100% and work. If not then your laptop could have other issues, so its up to you if you want to do this hard reset but I can’t guarantee that your warranty will not void. Good luck and hope this helps you out

Hi, after booting first press F7 or Fn +F7 keys and if no display reboot to BIOS with F2, if still no display, try to boot to Safe Mode by interrupting the booting three times by holding the Power Button down each time for 5 seconds. If still no results take the laptop to Acer Services in your country.
