Concerns regarding RGB Lighting issue in predator Helios PH315-52-588F, can't change colors

What is the exact PH315-xx model number of your Predator Helios with the GTX1660Ti gpu, as the only 2020 released model service guide that we have is for the Helios 300 PH315-53 model and its service guide does not have the GTX1660Ti gpu listed as an oem gpu, as this model range has the RTX3060, NVIDIA RTX 3070 Max-Q and the NVIDIA RTX 3080 Max-Q gpu’s as its oem supplied gpu’s for the PH315-53 laptops. Your PH315-53 must be a different model and it must be an odd model that Acer release for a cheaper range of this Predator Helios range so that they can sell it in certain markets.

With the RGB your Predator must have only a one colour keyboard RGB and can’t be mixed, as the Predator Sense determines the range and settings for the RGB colours, so whatever you have in PS that is all the colours that you have, also, the Win-10 PS will not work and/or install in Win-11 for the PH315-53 that you have, as the PS for your laptop model is specifically for Win-10. You can try to reinstall the Predator Sense to see if the keyboard lightning is back.

The Predator Helios that he has with the GTX1660Ti gpu is an Acer Win-10 driver laptop and the PS for Win-10 will NOT install on his Win-11 OS, read the post question first, before you answer a post with a wrong answer AnhEZ28!

and i have serios doubts on it not having RGB i think when it came out it was an option to put it in the computer or something bbecause looking at all the other models of my same number NONE of them have the 4 zone rgb sticker

also i would like to quickly add that i did some deep research before making my purchase and im pretty sure that all the laptops withh the sticker do indeed have it as RGB mean red green blue and the 4 zone would indicate that it has 4 zones that can be programmed to different colors via predator sense

As I've said the PH315-52 PS has all the colours that you can set the keyboard RGB to, if its only got one colour then that is all that your PH315-52 model is set to. Also your PH315-52 model must be a special model that Acer release later on for a cheaper cost as the oem service guide from Acer doesn't list the GTX1660Ti gpu. As the PH315-52 came with the RTX2060, RTX2060Ti and the RTX2070 Max Q gpu's as per the service guide below and the mobo block diagram.

okay so can this this be explained in depth? can it be changed to a different color? yes or no. and will reverting back to windows 10 fix the rgb? these instructions have to be more clear. because im reading yes it can change the color but im also reading no it cannot change color. my problem is that predator sense isn't showing the lighting option. is this caused by the drivers/predator sense/ windows 11/or lack of rgb at all?

Your laptop has the colors whatever is in PS and that is all in Win-11 that you have, if you change the OS to Win-10 then the appropriate PH315-52 Win-10 Predator Sense version 3.00.3136 can be installed and all the colors should come back like when the laptop left Acer with. Good luck.

yeah so that definitely didn't work. i think I'm missing a driver for the keyboard this isn't correct.

I have to totally disagree with you on that. Even though the laptop does not have Windows 11 drivers posted, Predator Sense will still work regardless the laptop is on Windows 10 or 11.

yes sure and im sorry for the late reply have been busy today

so i got off the phone with support and the dude was super unhelpful they swear to god that my model only left the factory wit the blue backlit keyboard but mine says it has 4-zone rgb. i noticed that acerlightingserivce.exe wasnt running at all on my computer and in that fact was never installed and still doesnt install…. im really at a loss right now and could use any help available.

Hey AnhEZ28 do you own a Nitro or a Predator laptop and have you installed a Win-11 NS or PS into a Win-10 OS laptop or visa versa? As I own both and have been using these laptops for 6 years, and what you are saying is NOT the case, as I've tried to install a Win-10 NS and NS and PS on a Win-11 OS and it didn't install, other drivers might install but NS or PS will not.

Open regedit, go to this location HKEY_local_machine\SOFTWARE\OEM\Predator Sense\Lightning, and change the keyboard color value data to 2.

Also, check in the Services to see if the Acer lightning service is available.

hey thanks a lot that seems to be helpful as i noticed none of those are in there and none of the files leading up to the predator sense are even there is this an issue? also i realized my bios doesnt look anything like how the rest of my laptop models looks its not predator its just the old school windows one which seems weird for a gaming laptop.. could that also play a part in my RGB not channging colors?

The BIOS for PH315-52 still uses the old style. They have changed to a new style on the PH315-53 and onward.
