Hi, i decided tp replace my thermal pads on my acer laptop (ryzen 7 5600H & 3060 gpu) and i was wondering what thermal pad thickness i should use? Is it 1mm across all pad places or i needs to be 1.5 on some specific spot?

I also will proboably use artic mx4 or mx6 thermal paste for gpu amd cpu which is better?

Tnx

All answears welcome

For your Acer laptop with a Ryzen 7 5600H and RTX 3060, the recommended thermal pad thickness is typically 1.5mm to 2mm. This thickness is generally suitable for ensuring proper contact and heat dissipation between the components and the heatsink.
When replacing thermal pads, make sure to clean the surfaces thoroughly and apply the pads evenly to avoid any air gaps. This will help maintain optimal cooling performance.

Using 1mm thermal pads can also work for your laptop. The thickness of the thermal pads can vary depending on the specific design and assembly of the laptop. If you've seen others successfully using 1mm pads, it's likely that they provide adequate contact and cooling for your model.

If you're unsure, you could start with 1mm pads and monitor the temperatures. If the cooling performance isn't satisfactory, you can always switch to thicker pads like 1.5mm or 2mm.
