Acer E15 E5-575G - Cannot boot from nvme drive after Linux install, Disk not recognized

I've got an Acer E15 E5-575G for some years already. I've added a 512gb NVME to it recently, which worked fine.

However, I've tried to install a Linux distro on it to use it as the main drive, but while I'm able to do clean installs of different distros and can access the drive through the installers and the Windows installed on the HDD, I haven't been able to boot from it. For some reason the boot manager doesn't detect it as a bootable drive.

All my installs were done with secure boot and UEFI on, I've tried normal Fedora, Kinoite and Bazzite, each one was a clean install on the disk wiped, installed without errors, I can see the boot and efi partitions through Live ISOs and Windows, but no luck booting from it.

Seems similar if not exactly the same to the following post, which went unanswered. Does it means that there's no way to boot from the nvme on this laptop? There are a few videos of people cloning windows installs to it and booting fine. I've used Ventoy in normal mode, installed with gpt and secure boot enabled to load the isos if that matter (shouldn't matter as I'm not even getting to the point of having key enrollment errors)

    Have a look at the appropriate Installation Troubleshoot Guides for the Fedora, Kinoite and Bazzite not booting from M.2 SSD drive, as they are available. I don't have experience with these OSs so I cant give you any further guides. Good luck.

    None of them have a troubleshooting guide for the disk not being recognized by the motherboard's boot manager. It's not shown as a bootable device on the boot menu. Tried several clean installs on the same computer, while it works on any other. Not sure if it's a motherboard config I'm missing or that this specific device needs the OSes to be installed with something specific to be detected

    @fdm

    Does disabling the secure boot make any difference?

    @AnhEZ28 I havent tried yet but if secureboot was the issue, the disk shouldnt appear as bootable on the f12 menu? The ventoy drive can load with secure boot without issues
