I have a mystery: ACER Predator X28 monitor, ACER X203W, won't 'play nice'. X28 'ghosts' me.

I've tried many driver updates, many plug combinations, and 3 docking stations (top of the line). My newest Win 11 PC will start up using both monitors (X28 3840x2160; X203W 1680x1050) but a restart or waking from sleep, usually causes my X28 to 'ghost' me. By 'ghost' I mean the amber standby light is on, but Win 11 Settings/display still shows it present. Windows can open on the display, but they're not visible. The task-bar 'move' function can drag most of them onto the laptop native display, to be used or closed. I remember the X203W being a unique design. Is it possible the latest graphics cards are not able to use them together. (Added detail… My windows 10 PC has no issue with the dock/X28/X203W combination, just Win 11 with the newer graphics card). Hope you have some ideas.

That sounds like an issue with the driver or with Windows not seeing a sleeping monitor. What GPU are you using, and which driver version is installed?

Thanks for responding!!! I just spotted it.

The GPU is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 with 12GB. The PC is a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i.

At support's direction I just installed the NVIDIA Studio Driver, Version 572.60, released Feb 27, 2025.

Windows 11 Pro, and drivers (all anyone can identify) have been updated. The sleeping monitor theory sounds like something to pursue. How can I test, or resolve such? Any other ideas may help too! Thanks again!
