Hi guys,

Need your help! My Acer predator orion 3000 650 died. I bought it 1 year and 2 weeks ago and it died 2 weeks after the warranty expired :( annoying!

So basically I’ve been troubleshooting for a few days. I tried removing the cmos battery and putting it back - it didn’t help, relocating the ram in another slot and using 1 at a time to see if one faulty - didnt help, removed GPU and hard drive - didn’t help, bought another PSU( corsair 750 fully modular) - didn’t help. I need your help

I guess is the CPU or motherboard but I dont know how to find for sure. When I start the PC it starts the fans for 20 sec and then shuts off. No beeping sounds and no light anywhere on the motherboard (not sure if the motherboard have these functions I never paid much attention before)

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Milen

Upgrading to a Corsair 750 fully modular 24pin PSU will not work as the PO3-650 desktop has different ATX power plugs on its mainboard than the Corsair 24pin main plugs, you need the oem Acer 750 PSU "LITE-ON PA-3751-1AA 750W ACTIVE PFC 100-127V/200-240V ATX 100-127V/220V-240V, PCIE GEN5 12+4 PIN, BLACK CASE - Acer part #: DC.7501B.001" like in the image below:

I suggest that you do a hard reset, unplug the desktop from the mains power then Clear_CMOS and then take the bios battery out and all the ram, leave the desktop like that for 1 hour (preferably overnight) as your mainboard might have a frozen EC chip or Chipset or a bios chip, as this hard reset will reset all these chips.

Then reconnect all components, if you have 2x or 4 x ram modules, only connect either 1 or two and alternate the ram, and see if the ram is not faulty, as a faulty ram could also be why your desktop is not booting. Try all that and let us know if it worked, as the PO3-650 is only a new desktop and this desktop should work properly and should not be having a mainboard issue. good luck and hope this helps you out.

    Clear_CMOS

Make sure that you install all the memory modules like instructed below

Most likely the CMOS settings are mucked up, often caused when Microsoft does a BIOS change through Windows update. The CMOS clear as shown could easily get you back and running, if not it might require a reflash of the BIOS, which is likely best left to a technician.
