Neither Windows or the laptop sees Internal DVD Writer in Aspire ES 15 ES1 523 26EF
ACER ASPIRE ES 15 ES1 523 26EF RUNNING WINDOWS 10 PRO 64BIT, INSTALLED A INTERNAL DVD WRITER BUT NEITHER WINDOWS OR THE LAPTOP WILL SEE IT, ( WRITER IS PLUG'NPLAY AND W10 COMPATABLE), IS THERE SOMETHING IN BIOS THAT NEEDS CONFIGURING?, OR EVEN SO THE BAY IS THERE AND SATA CONNECTIONS ON THE BOARD THERE WAS IT NEVER MEANT TO RUN ONE?

Hi, open Device Manager and check if the ODD is listed under "DVD/CD-ROM drives." If it's listed but has a yellow exclamation mark, there might be a driver issue. There are specific ODDs available for this model laptop, check this forum for a thread with a similar topic.

Hi, thanks for reply, the DVD drive isn't even showing in device manager, so im totally at a loss with it, is there any specific setting in bios? the DVD drive is a "Hitachi Lg gud1n" windows 10 compatible.

Hi, there maybe be a Sata interface issue, find that post on this forum that I mentioned or google your topic, also check Zandparts.com if they have a compatible ODD.
