Acer Nitro ANV15-41-R9V5 – Random Shutdowns Under Load, Need Help!

Hey everyone,

I have an Acer Nitro ANV15-41-R9V5 laptop, and I'm dealing with random shutdowns under load while gaming. I'm hoping someone here has experienced something similar or can suggest a fix.

The Issue:
  • The laptop randomly shuts down while playing demanding games (NFS Heat; Hogwarts Legacy).
  • It doesn’t happen instantly but usually after 1.5–2 hours of gameplay.
  • OCCT stress tests (CPU, GPU, RAM, combined) ran for 60 minutes each without any issues.
  • The first time I sent the laptop in for service, because it is 1.5 months old, they said they could not reproduce the fault.
  • After I got the laptop back, I reinstalled Windows and the error persisted.
  • Both the games and Windows are legitimate games fom Steam.
  • There was also an overheating problem but that was rectified by the service department by replacing the Heatsink. But when I got the laptop back the second time, the crashes continued.
  • Now the temperature is normal, so I would rule that out. I always play with the power cord plugged in, I have tried using a different outlet, that didn't help either. I have sent the service department the log files I made up to the shutdown, but they have not reported anything back.
Other Issues I Noticed:
  • I got the KernelPower 41 in the EventViewer
  • Windows Event Viewer logs Event ID 6008, which suggests an unexpected power loss.
  • BIOS is up to date, and I’m using the latest NVIDIA Game Ready WHQL driver.
  • All the drivers are up to date.
What I’ve Tried:
  • Stress testing: OCCT, GPU-Z, HWINFO – no shutdowns during tests.
  • Different power settings: High performance, balanced – no difference.
  • Clean Windows reinstall after the service: No improvement.
What Could Be the Cause?
  • Failing power delivery components (VRMs, motherboard issue?)
  • Overheating despite stress tests showing no shutdowns?
  • GPU or motherboard defect?

The manufacturer’s service center says they cannot find any hardware faults, but the issue still happens. Any ideas? Has anyone faced something similar with the Nitro series?

Thanks in advance!
