    Yes, the Aspire A514-52 is compatible with the ThinkPad Universal USB-C Smart Dock. The ThinkPad Universal USB-C Dock is designed to be compatible with most USB-C notebooks, including those from other brands. While the dock supports Thunderbolt 4 (TBT4), it can also work with USB-C ports that do not support Power Delivery (PD) like the A514-52 laptop. When connected to a USB-C port without PD, the dock will still provide data transfer, video output, and other functionalities, but it won't be able to charge the laptop. Essentially, the dock adapts to the capabilities of the connected device, offering as many features as the device supports.

    @Uggleigh

    The A514-52 does not have a Thunderbolt port. The USB-C is USB 3.1 Gen 1 so you can use the dock's USB port only. The video ports like Displayport or HDMI will not work so pay attention to this.
